God's Self-Existence

I loved the Definition of an Attribute, I loved the analogy he used in reference to reading someones biography you know all about them but you don't personally know them. I LOVE the fact that by learning the attributes of God we are not learning little snipits about Him we are learning who He is!!!


It Stood out to me that when Tozer was refering to God never have been created how often times I forget that He was first and was never created He was before time( but more importantly before me). I think it made me realize how truly depraved I am in the sense that I am blessed with the knowledge of Him yet I still fall so short in grasping the true gravity of how small I am yet He still chose to bless me!!


Question

~ I am what I am means before all thing God was and is and will be after all things!

~ With God having not been created it brings perspective to the fact that we are so small that we were created! We begin and we end! God remains!

~ To make our Prayers more than just a "shopping list" I must first address where my prayer life is, If I am just coming to God once a day seeking for myself versus seeking God through prayer at every opportunity. Am I humbling myself at His thrown and lifting up others or am I just self seeking. I need to let the Spirit lead me in prayer I need to humble myself when I seek an audience with the Most High!

~Once God truly opens our eyes and ears and removes out heart of stone, We have new hearts to seek God for His glory and not for our own selfishness!

~ The Essence of Sin is self, The world as whole tends to think of things that feel good right now instant gratification, which leads to the me-ness we constantly want for ourselves, I want this or I want that, seldom do we consider others through out the course of our day. Moreover how often do we let our heavenly Father fall to the back burner of self. In the world today that is what everthing is about is about self-esteem, positive self-talk, addictive personality mad me do it. There is one self that is always missing from today, Self-control.

~Of all the sins refered to in Galatians 5:19-21 They all boil down to SELF!


Ladies I lift you up today and will continue to lift you up daily. I will be praying for the families and the people of Haiti throughout the day. May God continue to Bless this study and open up our hearts to Glorify Him!!
