Ch 1 God's Self-Existence

Definition of attribute - love that he did this; so often I think I know what a word means only to find out I'm wrong! I'm thankful for the wonder about God that I have & that there are things about Him I CAN'T know so I don't need to fret about them! (forgive the over-use of "!").
God to Moses: "I am the God of your forefathers & I will be the God of your descendants."
"God has no origin" - His existence doesn't depend on & is not affected by ANY person, situation, circumstance, etc.
"The essence of sin is independent self" - ouch! I forget/ignore/disregard the fact that Barb is ONLY because God is first. All else depends on Him. I can't be independent of God, altho I sometimes run my live - & others - as tho I am. Dealing w/it - daily/always allowing Him to show me my sin & to deal w/it, along w/its manifestations.
When I exclude God, everything is tainted & less than it should be. An iota of sin prevents holiness & affects every part of my life. Related to salvation, I was unable to save myself or clean myself up enuf to be saved; didn't even know I needed salvation until God blessed me with His saving grace - alleluia!
